Over the last 13 years, our products have been featured in various western magazines, including Cowboys & Indians, Town & Country, Coastal Living, True West, and Cowgirl Magazine:
The famous chocolate tamales, discovered and introduced by Frontier Outfitters, have been featured on the Food Network TV channel.
Read the recent interview with Frontier Outfitters on Love To Know.
The traditional old-Texan Tootie Pies have been featured in numerous publications all over America. Writer, John T. Edge who journeyed across the country researching his book "Apple Pie: An American Story", highlighted the Tootie Pie in his book. He recognized it not only for its big Texas size, but even more importantly for the pastry like crust found only in Tootie's pies. For the last decade, Tootie has been featured on Texas Country Reporter and in newspapers and magazine articles, such as Texas Monthly and the New York Times. Our old-style twisted wire marshmallow sticks with cedar handles are popular all over the country, including Hollywood celebrities. Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks Studio has purchased a large supply of the marshmallow sticks for one of their ranch parties.

Our story began over 13 years ago (in 1997) in the Texas Hill Country town Medina - a charming small town with colorful history and deep roots dating back to the early to mid 1800's. Hill Country is truly the glory land of Texas known for its beautiful hilly countryside, spacious fields of wildflowers, Texas limestone and rich cultural heritage. It's probably because of its beauty and uniqueness, so many skilled artisans choose to live in this region, often continuing the old family tradition of craftsmanship that becomes so rare this days.
Surrounded by all these spectacular local arts and crafts, the idea was born to provide local artisans and designers a venue, in which to showcase their work, while making the venue easily accessible worldwide. This is how the wonderful journey of Frontier Outfitters started.
The first home of Frontier Outfitters was a local ranch located on the hills of Medina. Later, we moved to the historical Hatfield Building in the center of Medina. Built in 1898 from field stone hauled by oxen cart, the building served as Medina's only source for groceries and apparel for over 75 years. Withstanding floods, Indians and wild cowboys, the building maintained its near original condition being one of the most prominent buildings in town.
Today, to provide easier access to our products and faster service, our Design Center, offices and warehouse are located in the metropolitan city of Houston, Texas. |

As a store that originated as a venue to promote local artisans, we recognize the importance of supporting and disseminating Western tradition. For several years, we have been a proud member of the "Go Texan" initiative, designed to promote product made in Texas. This symbol will appear by all products made in Texas by Texans. |
